REQUIREMENTS FOR PE

● Students will need to EITHER come to class in or change into comfortable athletic clothing on the days they have PE class.
(Examples of not appropriate attire: Jeans, Dresses, Skirts, clothing that is too revealing or restrictive for physical activity)

● Students will be provided time in the locker room before and after class to change clothes.

● Required footwear: SNEAKERS (that tie) for PE class

NO boots, flip flops, dress shoes, slide in type shoes, Uggs, Hey Dudes, OR CROCS

● Students will be expected to lock/secure their belongings in the locker room during class. Each student is responsible to supply their own lock.

Late Policy

After the whistle blows if you are still in the locker room you will be marked late to class. Resulting in loss of points or a referral at the teachers discretion.

Absent Policy

A PE grading period is 2 A-D rotations. A PE class meets 6 times during 2 A-D rotations. Students are allowed one absent from class during a grading period. Any absences after 1 result in a loss of points for the day and can be earned back during one session of Zero Period by walking in the gym. The student must set up time with me for the make-up Zero Period.

PE Cell Phone Policy

NO PHONES PERMITTED Phones must be locked in the locker room

-1st time warning -2nd time loss of points -3rd time loss of points and referral. Every time after the "warning" will result in a loss of points.

Health Trimesters

● 2nd Trimester: Freshmen and Juniors will split the time in Health 6 weeks each. (Juniors 1st 6 weeks and Freshmen last 6 weeks)

● 3rd Trimester: Freshman and Juniors will split the time in Health 6 weeks each. (Juniors 1st 6 weeks and Freshmen last 6 weeks)

Grading Policy

Physical Education: 50% - Skills/Knowledge and Engagement/Participation

40% - Readiness

10% - Suite 360 assignments

Health: 50% - Assessments (tests, quizzes, major projects)

40% - Assignments (independent classwork/homework)

10% - Suite 360 assignments

Late Assignments

As per teacher’s discretion.

NOTE: Exceptions to be made for IEP/ 504 plans or personal extenuating circumstances.

Medical

If you are medically unable to participate; a doctor's note needs to be given to the front office. Once approved by the nurse an alternate assignment will be given.

Zero Period

Allows students an opportunity to make up missed assignments, quizzes and tests. Teacher availability for ZERO PERIOD

Mr Cohen room 123 A day & C day and I will be in the gym during ZERO period during D days.

Teacher/ Student Communication
Students can communicate with their teacher via email or commenting in Google Classroom. Keep in mind that if you comment on the stream, everyone will see it including school administration.
