Parents/Guardians and students of (MFHL) Movement For A Healthy Lifestyle and Junior Health and Wellness

Welcome to the 2024/2025 school year. All students will be participating in Physical Education (Wellness) activities throughout the school year. Any written assignments given will be completed through google classroom. MFHL will have a combination of written assignments and wellness activities. Junior Health and PE will begin the 2nd trimester in Health, some fitness/wellness activities will be incorporated throughout the 2nd & 3rd trimester.

Syllabus: Health and Wellness

REQUIREMENTS FOR PE 

● Students will need to EITHER come to class in or change into comfortable clothing on the days they have PE class.
   Examples of not appropriate attire: Jeans, Dresses, Skirts, clothing that is too revealing for physical activity

● Students will be provided time in the locker room before and after class to change clothes. ● Required footwear: SNEAKERS (that tie) for PE class 

NO boots, flip flops, dress shoes, slide in type shoes, uggs, Hay Dudes OR CROCS 

● Students will be expected to lock/secure their belongings in the locker room during class. Each student is responsible to supply their own lock. 

PE Cell Phone Policy 

NO PHONES PERMITTED Phones must be locked in the locker room 

-1st time warning -2nd time loss of points -3rd time loss of points and referral Health Trimesters 

● 1st Trimester (Sept. 5 - Dec. 1): Sophomores - Drivers Education

● 2nd Trimester (Dec. 4 - Mar. 4): Juniors/ Freshmen Alternating though out the 2nd and 3rd trimester 

● 3rd Trimester (Mar. 5 - Jun. 14): Juniors/ Freshmen Alternating though out the 2nd and 3rd trimester 

Grading Policy 

Physical Education: 50% - Skills/Knowledge and Engagement/Participation 

40% - Readiness 

10% - Suite 360 assignments 

Health: 50% - Assessments (tests, quizzes, major projects) 

40% - Assignments (independent classwork/homework) 

10% - Suite 360 assignments 

Late Assignments 

As per teacher’s discretion. 

NOTE: Exceptions to be made for IEP/ 504 plans or personal extenuating circumstances.

Medical 

If you are medically unable to participate; a doctor's note needs to be given to the front office. Once approved by the nurse an alternate assignment will be given.

Zero Period 

My Pirate time is B & D days Room 123 

Allows students an opportunity to make up missed assignments, quizzes and tests.

Students can communicate with their teacher via email or commenting in Google Classroom. Keep in mind that if you comment on the stream, everyone will see it including school administration.
